Why curved spring bars? | IWC Portuguese IW503502

IWC-Portuguese-IW503502-2.jpgYour watch and watchband is connected by two spring bars. The standard spring bars you can find normally are in straight form. However, according to design criteria, some watch case may be designed with a tiny little end to holds the spring bars. The space between watchbands will be narrowed down.

IWC-Portuguese-IW503502-1In such case straight spring bars may not be fixed firmly or even cannot be inserted. The smart designers will change straight one to a pair of curved spring bars in order to increase the space between spring bars and watch case.

It does narrow down the embarrassing lug gap. This applies to non-rigid material, such as leather watch strap. The changing of curved spring bars does create more rooms to fit in a watch band. There are of benefit to you when installing the watchband, it became easy and also help to prevent the damage of watch band from scrapping when you pull in and out a NATO style straps.
