For those who aren’t too familiar with the Orient watch brand, you may have only heard about the Mako, Ray, Triton, and Kamasu collection lines. However, if you look back a little further, perhaps around the 1970S era to be exact, you may have heard of, or recognize the Orient Panda Neo 70S line of watches.
There’s a reason why the dial is nicknamed ‘panda’. In short, a panda dial is a light-colored dial (often in white or silver, cream in this case) with much darker sub dials. It’s the chronograph watch models that are commonly referred to as pandas, since they tend to be the watch that are most commonly display with multiple sub dials.
If you look closely at the three dials, especially if they are positioned in a triangular pattern, it greatly resembles the face of a panda. This particular Orient wv0041tx model operates on a Orient KSB00 caliber, as well as a solar power movement with a power reserve of six months.
To clarify what this actual movement is that the word ‘Solar’, meaning it’s powered and charged from light. It has the accuracy of a quartz watch, which is very precise, keeping time within +/- 15 seconds a month, and can hold a charge for up to six months. You’re basically getting the precision of a quartz watch, and still able to get the smooth sweeping second hand that you would get from a full mechanical watch.
While we were looking for watchbands for the photoshoot, its obvious that we had to try and see if any of our Orient 22mm curved end watchbands are able to fit with this Orient panda watch model or not. Luckily, we tested and confirmed that the curved end fitted watch bands for the Orient Mako II & RAY II, can both be used on the Orient Panda WV0041TX watch.
There’s really not much to complain about with the Orient Panda Neo 70S WV0041TX watch. With a price tag of 250.00USD or so, you can’t ask for a better bargain anywhere else. If you’re looking for a good looking mid-size chronograph model, you should definitely consider the Orient Panda Neo 70S WV0041TX model. Its a no brainer to add this beauty to your watch collection without having to worry about breaking a huge dent to your wallet.
