This is the first time I’ve got my hands on a sailcloth strap, and my first impression of it is that these sailcloth straps are incredible. Surprisingly, the strap feels soft to the touch, but at the same time, you can feel how stiff and sturdy the strap actually is.

With the name ‘Sailcloth’, you can assume that the materials are often used on sailboats. By Definition, ‘Sailcloth’ encompasses a wide variety of materials that span those from natural fibers, such as flax, hemp or cotton in various forms of sail canvas, to synthetic fibers, including nylon, polyester, aramids, and carbon fibers in a variety of woven, spun and molded textiles.

When it comes to tough and reliability material, Sailcloth are often compared with Cordura, which is a military grade material that is known of its toughness and able to sustain most severe weather conditions. The flexibility for these sailcloth straps are second to none since both sides of the straps are made with sailcloth.

You’ll notice in time that having both sides with sailcloth material, instead of mixing it with leather, fewer wrinkles are found on the strap so that it keeps the strap looking new all the time. Breaking in the sailcloth straps was a piece of cake.

As the strap breaks in the softness and level of comfort increases. Strapcode’s latest ‘Sailcloth’ are available in Black, Grey, Navy Blue, and Yellow in a 20mm lug size with a 2mm taper finish.
