The ‘Save The Ocean’ collaboration with Fabien Cousteau, the grandson of famous underwater conservationist Jacques Cousteau has been ongoing since 2018. Just like in the past, a percentage of proceeds from the sales of these new watches would go towards the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, which is a  a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of ways to protect ocean habitats and marine life.

The two featured Seiko watch models remain the same as the previous ‘Save The Ocean’ models, SRPF77 King Turtle and SRPF79 King Samurai. Since the SRPF77 is based on the King Turtle model, you can expect the usual stainless steel 45mm turtle watch case with brushed & polished finish, along with the crown at 4 o’clock.

The SRPF77 has a more simple date movement with the in-house Seiko caliber 4R36 automatic. The automatic movement operates at 3Hz with 41 hours of power reserve.

New updates that you can find on the SRPF77 is the new gradient blue-grey dial, along with this year’s ‘Save The Ocean’ featured specie, manta rays. Another update worth mentioning with the SRPF77 is the sapphire crystal with magnifier over the day-date, and a black ceramic insert to pair along with the dark blue dial.

The silicon strap that comes with the SRPF77 comes in the same dark blue color that was used on the dial. The Seiko Prospex Turtle “Save the Ocean” Dark Manta Ray Special Edition SRPF77K1 diver watch takes classic design traits of dive watches and combines them with iconic design features and elements from its vintage dive watches, making them even more appealing to Seiko enthusiasts.

To those who are worried about not being able to pick up a SRPF77, relax, this edition is released as a special model, but not limited edition, which was priced at 595.00USD.
