Over the last couple of years, the rapid growth for the New Seiko 5 sports watches have made them become one of the most popular watch collections from Seiko. Just last year, Seiko released its new Seiko 5 Sports line, SRPE models: SRPE51K1, SRPE53K1, SRPE55K1, SRPE57K1, SRPE58K1, SRPE60K1, SRPE61K1, SRPE63K1, SRPE65K1, SRPE67K1.
The new SRPE line is almost identical to the 22mm SRPD models, apart from one major change, which is the bezel. On the SRPE models, the unidirectional rotating bezel which is a crucial trait of a dive watch has been replaced with a fixed polished bezel.
Although the SRPE models no longer have a rotating bezel, you may feel like its smaller wire worn on wrist, however, you’ll also find that its much easier to go under the cuffs of a dress shirt.
The polished bezel is a nice feature that gives it a sleek and refined look. By combining polished and brushed elements to the watch case, it enhances the watch’s impression of quality and also shows that Seiko has really paid attention to the details.
The Seiko 5 SRPE models are powered by the Seiko in-house automatic caliber 4R36, that features both hacking seconds and a manual winding function. It beats with a frequency of 21600 BPH and has 24 jewels.
Seiko have once again done a good job with the dive bezel less SRPE models. Its perfect for those who are looking for a sporty, and yet elegant watch that literally works in any occasion.
