The Seiko Watch Corporation, as one of the major powerhouse in the watch industry today. With a 100 plus years of experiences in the watch industry, its safe to say that watches Seiko produce are top tier class without questioning.

As a watch company that strongly believe that they have a watch for everyone, no matter the budget. Whether you are purchasing a basic quartz watch for under a 100.00USD, to the hundreds, and thousands of dollar mechanical watch, rest assured that the same amount of effort, dedication and craftsmanship, can be found in their watch models, no matter the grade levels.

Being recognized as one of the best watch makers was just not good enough for Seiko, they wanted to be the best in the world. The Seiko company wanted to take their watch making skills into the next level that will put them on ahead of every other competitor on the market. The Grand Seiko ultimately started as the Japanese wanted to create something that could compare to the best Swiss watches, and ultimately become a watch that every other competitor to look up to.
One of our major projects assigned this year is to design custom fitted stainless bracelets for one of Grand Seiko’s finest, SBGJ235 GMT LE watch model.

The GS SBGJ235 GMT Limited Edition was my very first time (hands on), on any Grand Seiko models. The SBGJ235 was a limited edition from Grand Seiko that was made only available to purchase from the Grand Seiko Boutique. The details on the SBGJ235 are done to perfection. From the choice of colors used for the dial, which was a metaphor used was the resemblance of the ‘Mount Iwate pattern’ view from inside the Shizukuishi Watch Studio where all Grand Seiko mechanical timepieces are made- expresses the beauty of winter mountain scenery emerging faintly through moonlight reflected on snow.

The quality of the finishing on the SBGJ235 are second to none. There’s actually a name for this polishing technique, known as the “Zaratsu polishing”, which creates the sharply defined edges and seamless mirror finishing that became the signature of Grand Seiko. As mentioned previously, the SBGJ235 is a limited to be available at the Grand Seiko Boutiques. The words “Grand Seiko Boutique Limited Edition” are displayed proudly on the sapphire glass case back, which is marked with the famous Grand Seiko lion emblem.

Its not until you try on a Grand Seiko to realize the actual beauty of it. You can only imagine how much time and effort was put into the detailing and finishing on the watch itself. The design on a Grand Seiko maybe simple, but its the little things that catches your attention and make you appreciate the watch itself.
